the secret to happiness in 5 quotes

the secret to happiness in 5 quotes

Before Mutzii came here in Germany, I used to be the most negative person in the world. I couldn’t live a single day without complaining. I never run out of things to fret about. I couldn’t see any good things around me, except, of course, my wife. Her presence was the only thing that makes me thankful for my existence. That’s why, when she decided to come over and be with me, I was the happiest person on Earth.

In almost two years of being with her, I’ve learned a lot of things that made so many big positive changes in my life. She’s been the greatest influence on me. She taught me to learn from the past and live in the present, without abandoning the future. She opened my eyes and helped me see the beauty of the world. She uplifted my soul and made me realise that I can still be the person whom I want to be, regardless of how old I am today. She’s like a drug that’s making me high all the time. A beautiful witch who cast a very strong spell on me. <3 <3

So, anyhow, the purpose of this blog post is not to spread cheesiness but to spread happiness. LOL. I wanted to write some tips for having a happier life because I’m too inspired lately, but then again, I’m not good in giving bits of advice. How can I be if I grew up (or maybe old) without having sensible friends to benefit a good advice? But, I won’t waste a minute of your time without getting something from our blog. I’ve rounded up, with the help of Mutzii, of course, 5 beautiful quotes to achieving happiness. Here you go:

“Many of us have convinced ourselves that we are able to break our own personal rules “just this once.” In our minds, we can justify these small choices. None of those things, when they first happen, feels like a life-changing decision. The marginal costs are almost always low. But each of those decisions can roll up into a much bigger picture, turning you into the kind of person you never wanted to be.”—Clayton Christensen

“Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend … when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present—love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us [happiness]—the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.”—Sarah Ban Breathnach

“Maybe happiness didn’t have to be about the big, sweeping circumstances, about having everything in your life in place. Maybe it was about stringing together a bunch of small pleasures. Wearing slippers and watching the Miss Universe contest. Eating a brownie with vanilla ice cream. Getting to level seven in Dragon Master and knowing there were twenty more levels to go. Maybe happiness was just a matter of the little upticks- the traffic signal that said “Walk” the second you go there- and downticks- the itch tag at the back of your collar- that happened to every person in the course of the day. Maybe everybody had the same allotted measure of happiness within each day. Maybe it didn’t matter if you were a world-famous heartthrob or a painful geek. Maybe it didn’t matter if your friend was possibly dying. Maybe you just got through it. Maybe that was all you could ask for.” ― Ann Brashares

Later she remembered all the hours of the afternoon as happy — one of those uneventful times that seem at the moment only a link between past and future pleasure, but turn out to have been the pleasure itself.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

“Life is about balance. The good and the bad. The highs and the lows. The thing everyone should realize is that the key to happiness is being happy by yourself and for yourself. Happiness comes from within. You have the power to change your own mindset so that all the negative, horrible thoughts that try to invade your psyche are replaced with happy, positive, wonderful thoughts.”― Ellen DeGeneres
