“The most incredible architecture is the architecture of Self, which is ever changing, evolving, revolving and has unlimited beauty and light inside which radiates outwards for everyone to see and feel. With every in breathe you are adding to your life and every out breathe you are releasing what is not contributing to your life. Every breathe is a re-birth.” ― Allan Rufus
Here’s a beautiful quotation as told by one of my favourite women in the world, Marilyn Monroe. Also, a note to self.
“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soulmate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”
I’m reading a bunch of motivational and inspirational articles and e-books lately to keep me sane. It’s very uplifting to know that maybe, famous people like Miss Monroe had also experienced similar things normal people encounter, like what I do experience. To make the story short, I am suffering from sort of emotional crisis lately which of course people around me aren’t really aware of because it doesn’t really show, that is if you’re just going to base it on my physique. Well, maybe because instead of consuming myself with these things called “shortcomings”, I always choose to do what makes me happy. Like today, I was sort of feeling blue again because there are just things in life that are really hard to overcome, that’s normal I know. I wanted to just stay at home and laze the day away but I refused to do so because that would only refresh the sad feeling I was struggling with for the past couple of months.
And with that, I’m sharing with you my way of shaking off the negative thoughts. Dressing up slash ‘sister day’. 😀
I’ve just participated the 100happydays project a few minutes ago which I plan to start by July of this year. I sort of disliked the posts in my Facebook and Instagram newsfeed with this hashtag at first but instead of doing it the bragging way like what most people do in my newsfeed, I’m going to do it privately and merely for the purpose of challenging myself. It sounds really tough especially for me who’s been facing gray days for almost half a year now. But I guess trying out won’t hurt, right? So wish me luck.
“You always need to be wearing an elegant pair of shoes. Men are good too; but what good is a man if you don’t have beautiful shoes on your feet? You need to be either barefoot; or wearing fabulous shoes in order to attain that certain type of happiness…I don’t know what it’s called… it’s a “to hell with it all” kind of happiness that makes you know that you can take on the world!” ― C. JoyBell C.
Love this quote! Wearing today this Forever21 Skater Skirt and a pair of Gola shoes.
Purple Personality – You dislike being part of the crowd, wishing to stand apart from the mob – you like to be noticed for your individuality. You don’t like to copy others and you don’t like them to copy you.
If there’s one color that best describes me, it’s purple (as quoted above). It’s not my favorite color but today’s outfit post obviously features the shade of purple or violet.
All of my favorite clothes are still in the laundry shop so I’ve got no choice today but to choose among the clothes that I least use in my closet. And this is what I came up with – aztec lavender prints, violet skirt, maroon shoes, all in violet shades!
Personal tips on wearing purple:
1) Make sure the accessories you choose combine well with the shade of purple you decide to wear.
The purple pieces that I am wearing today are light enough but I decided to pair it with a simple silver watch and rings to give a minimal look. But you can be a little playful with light purples by combining it with light yellow, pink or green accessories.
2) BIG NO NOs: a) Dark shades of purple during summer. b) Dark makeup on dark purples.
What about you, lovelies? I would love to hear how you wear purple outfits.
“Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out.”― Deb Caletti, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
If you want to survive the scorching hot sun here in PH, then you should definitely wear something light and cool. It’s this time of the year when I don’t often wear prints. I may wear printed outfit but I make sure it’s short, no sleeves or with cool and thin fabrics. I know floral print is the trend during summer but geez I only wear summery outfit whenever I’m in the beach or it’s off-summer season or unless, it’s the only outfit left in my closet. Isn’t it a bit of embarrassing going out, feeling giddy in your floral dress or maxi skirt then bumping into with people wearing same outfit, too? – Same reason why I don’t usually go with what’s IN.
Well, I wear summery outfit during spring or rainy season – of course, with a jacket or scarf to go along with it. I guess we can wear whatever we please even without following what the season or the trend is. But I also believe that you don’t wear boots on a summer day, right? But guess what? I saw heaps in their knee high boots and yep on a very hot, hot summer day –just a few days ago! What’s worse is that most of the people I saw in their boots often pair it with leggings or super skinny pants. Aren’t they too harsh on themselves?
Anyhows, flaunting with you today what I wore the other day when my siblings and I went out for a short walk and a little prayer at the church nearby. **Forgive my oily skin**
What have you been up to?
