“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.” ― Kahlil Gibran

“Sadly, the signals that allow men and women to find the partners who most please them are scrambled by the sexual insecurity initiated by beauty thinking. A woman who is self-conscious can’t relax to let her sensuality come into play. If she is hungry she will be tense. If she is “done up” she will be on the alert for her reflection in his eyes. If she is ashamed of her body, its movement will be stilled. If she does not feel entitled to claim attention, she will not demand that airspace to shine in. If his field of vision has been boxed in by “beauty”–a box continually shrinking–he simply will not see her, his real love, standing right before him.” ― Naomi Wolf

trustful hands

at
trustful-hands

We are sentimental animals
We are undercover criminals
We were meant to make a thing or two
Meant to break the laws of gravity too

Hold on, go slow
Lights out, let go
Stay put, at ease
Breath out, then in
Oh no, no, no, no
There comes chaos
Creatures like me
Easily sucked in
When I dance in disorder
Do I want to
Make sense at all
No no no, not this time, it
Comes and goes
Comes and goes
Chaos is my second home
I don’t mind
Where I land
As long as I’m in trustful hands

We are sentimental animals
We are undercover criminals
We were meant to make a thing or two
Meant to break the laws of gravity too

Burn bridges, lose ground
Bite the dust for a while
Where’s order when it’s needed?
Do I want to
Make some at all
No, no, no
There comes chaos back

Oh no no no no
Not this time, it
Comes and goes
Comes and goes
Chaos is my second home
I don’t mind
Where I land
As long as I’m in trustful hands

We are sentimental animals
We are undercover criminals
We were meant to make a thing or two
Meant to break the laws of gravity

We are sentimental animals
We are undercover criminals
We were meant to make a thing or two
Meant to break the laws of gravity too

Above is the lyrics of my current favourite song, “Trustful Hands” by one of my favourite indie bands “The Dø”. I’ve been actually playing this song on repeat since Monday. Yes, I’m that person who can listen to the same song over and over again! 😀

Meanwhile, in connection with my previous all black everything outfit post, here’s what my wife wore that day. She kind of copied my style but in a more masculine, androgynous version.
